Cornell has started his Posh career well and maybe one day he will break into our top 20 list of players to have played for both clubs.
Those who didn’t make the cut (mostly for obvious reasons) include Ian Benjamin, Neil Freeman, Wakeley Gage, Pay Gavin, Kelvin Langmead, David Longhurst, David Rennie, Gary Sargeant, Leroy Constantine, Kane Ferdinand, Eric Brookes, Junior Morias, Harry Beautyman, Derrick Christie, Louie Donowa, Scott McGleish and Nana Ofori-Twumasi.
Here are the PT picks in descending order. Do you agree with our number one?

5. 16th: TREVOR SLACK
A powerful centre-back who joined Posh as a youth team player from Stanground School. He was a fan on the London Road terrace who went on to play 239 times for his hometown club (1 sub) and scored 21 goals. He won an England Youth cap while at Posh and was a joint-winner of the club's player-of-the-year prize alongside Micky Gynn (both pictured) in 1982-83. John Wile surprisingly let him leave London Road in 1986 after which he played for several clubs including at Northampton briefly.

6. 15th: IAN PHILLIPS
Former Posh boss Peter Morris had an eye for talent and Phillips was a left-back who moved to London Road from Mansfield in 1979 who went on to enjoy three fine seasons at Posh before losing his place to Steve Collins and joining Cobblers. Phillips was a key man in two strong Posh teams that just fell short of promotion to Division Three. He made 111 appearances (all starts) and scored three goals. He played one full season with Cobblers.

7. 14th: JASON LEE
Posh boss Barry Fry decided his side needed a more direct style after they had lost their best two players, Matthew Etherington and Simon Davies to Spurs midway through the 1999-2000 Division Four season, so he signed targetman Lee on loan from Chesterfield. Lee scored 7 goals in 23 appearances that season to help Posh to promotion. He scored a crucial play-off semi-final goal at Barnet before suffering an injury that kept him out of a Wembley final win over Darlington. He never really recovered full fitness, but he still proved a reliable partner to Andy Clarke and Leon McKenzie when called upon the following season. Lee scored 16 goals in 60 Posh appearances (17 as a sub) before moving to Scottish football with Falkirk in 2003. Played half a season for Cobblers in 2006, scoring once.

8. 13th: SAIDO BERAHINO
This speedy striker enjoyed an excellent loan spell at Cobblers from West Brom in the 2011-12 season, scoring six goals in 14 Division Two matches. Berahino joined Posh on loan from the Baggies the following season and looked a lively addition to a struggling Championship squad before picking up a bad injury in a draw at Ipswich and returning to the Hawthorns. Berahino scored twice in 10 appearances (3 as a sub) for Posh, both goals arriving in a 3-0 win over Derby County at London Road.
