Full-back Mumba (20) scored on his Posh debut in an FA Cup tie against Bristol Rovers in January, but only started eight games for the club before returning to Carrow Road.
He’s one of many old boys lying in wait for Posh in the 2022-23 League One season, but should any of them be feared?
Mumba is doubtless a much better player than he showed at the Weston Homes Stadium where he was rarely deployed in his best position as a dashing right-back.
He gets a fear factor rating of 6/10. Other Posh old boys in League One are...
5. DOMINIC BALL - Ipswich Town
Posh apps/goals: 6/1. Classy centre-back who played fleetingly on loan at Posh from Rotherham in 2017, but became frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities. Since forged a decent career at Aberdeen and QPR before joining Ipswich in the summer at the age of 26. He played for QPR in a defeat at London Road last season, but likely to excel at League One level. Fear factor 7/10. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com.
6. CALLUM MORTON - Fleetwood Town
Posh apps/goals: 6/0. Striker who seemed like a panic signing by Posh last January and who made no impact before returning to parent club West Brom. Now signed permanently at Fleetwood for whom he struggled in front of goal when on loan in the first-half of last season. Fear factor 5/10. Photo: Joe Dent
7. ETHAN HAMILTON - Accrington Stanley
Posh apps/goals: 45/1. Energetic midfielder who played a part (mostly as a sub) in the Posh promotion of 2020-21 before moving to Accrington that summer. He enjoyed a strong first season at Stanley scoring eight goals and the former Manchester United man once scored a beauty for Rochdale at London Road. Fear factor 6/10. Photo: Joe Dent
8. RICARDO SANTOS - Bolton Wanderers
Posh apps/goals: 75/1. A giant centre-back plucked from the depths of non-league football by Posh in 2013. He was steady enough - and his one Posh goal was a memorable late winner at Darren Ferguson's Doncaster - but he left under a cloud and with some regrettable social media comments before turning into a star turn at Bolton. He's their captain and a fans' favourite and few who saw him at Posh would have seen that coming. Fear factor 7/10. Photo: Joe Dent
