REVEALED: The bargain basement fee Peterborough United paid for multi-million pound man Kyrell Lisbie
It has emerged Peterborough United paid just £75k to Braintree Town for Kyrell Lisbie last summer.
Posh director of football Barry Fry replied to a request from the PT and revealed the bargain basement amount that persuaded the National League side to part with a then 21-year old winger who had been playing step four football just 12 months earlier.

It puts into greater context a staggering piece of recruitment by Posh who this week sold Lisbie to Championship side Millwall, after just one successful season at League One level, for a fee reported as between £2.5 million-£3 million. At the lowest amount that’s still a profit of £2.425 million and £2.925 million at the higher figure which also represent huge percentage profits of between 3,300 and 4000%, some of which will go to Braintree.
And Fry also confirmed Posh are trying hard to recruit three/four new players before the Carabao Cup tie at Bristol Rovers on August 8, if not before the friendly with West Bromwich Albion at the Weston Homes Stadium this Saturday.
Posh are thought to be seeking a midfielder to replace Archie Collins, a pair of wingers, and possibly a forward player or centre-back.
