Red-hot title favourites Peterborough United Women are taking nothing for granted as in-form opposition visit PIMS Park
Peterborough United Women are taking nothing for granted as they embark on what should be a procession to the National Midlands Division One title.
A win in the big game against second-placed Boldmere St Michaels last weekend left Posh five points clear at the top with four matches to go, starting with the toughest against fourth-placed Barnsley at PIMS Park on Sunday (2pm kick off).

Two wins would seal top spot and manager Jake Poole wants it done and dusted as soon as possible, but he’s wary of the threat posed by an in-form Barnsley side who have won their last five league games.
Barnsley are one of only two teams to have taken points from the unbeaten leaders this season. Posh drew 0-0 in South Yorkshire in the reverse fixture.
"Barnsley are a good team with a lot of good players,” Poole said. “They looked like challenging for the title earlier in the season. They are also organised and defend well to complement som strong attacking players.
"They made it hard for us to play through them earlier in the season, although we created enough chances to win the game. Being back at home should help us and we want to make sure we get three points nearer to where we want to be.
“As always we will concentrate on what we can do. One of the strengths of the squad this season has been an ability to play with the same attitude whether we are playing against Boldmere or a team towards the bottom of the table.
"We also have healthy competition with players on the bench who are used to starting games at this level, but we have spoken this week about taking nothing for granted. No team is going to turn up and give us three points. They have to be earned.”
That strength in depth will be tested on Sunday by the suspension of key midfielder Niamh Reynolds.
