An early goal settled the contest and although Posh huffed and puffed they couldn’t find an equaliser despite creating a couple of great chances.
Too many individuals had off nights which is reflected in the player ratings.
RATINGS KEY: 10-Brilliant, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very Good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Dreadful.
5.
MARK BEEVERS: Badly bullied by Akinde in the first half and passed the ball poorly throughout. Substituted towards the end to try and improve the quality of passing 5.
6.
REECE BROWN: A half-hearted attempt to block the match-winning shot was quickly followed by a superb ball that should have led to an equaliser for Dembele. He always looked for the ball, but he didn't always use it wisely or quickly enough 5.5.
7.
JACK TAYLOR: You need your big players to stand up in moments of strife, but the classy midfielder barely influenced the contest. He was too deep in the first-half and although he got on the end of a couple of crosses after the break he couldn't find the target 5.
8.
JOE WARD: He did deliver a couple of decent crosses once he moved to wingback, but he was also often slow, hesitant or wayward. One very promising situation in the second-half was ruined by a dreadfully overhit centre 5.5
