Peterborough United winger completes his multi-million pound move to Millwall

Kyrell Lisbie has completed his multi-million pound move from Peterborough United to Millwall.

The 22 year-old winger has now officially moved to the Championship club for an undisclosed fee and signed a long-term contract.

Initial fee speculation suggested £3 million spread over the length of his contract with another £3 million in add ons, but reports in South London suggest the numbers are lower.

Millwall manager Alex Neil and Posh boss Luke Williams both avoided commenting on Lisbie’s future after Saturday’s friendly matches, but a badly-kept secret turned into breaking news on Sunday evening.

The deal represents a rapid profit turnover for Posh who are thought to have paid around £250k to National League Braintree for Lisbie last summer. The Essex-based club are likely to be entitled to a slice of that profit.

It’s also a rapid rise through the ranks for a speedy winger who scored 14 goals and claimed seven assists in his one season at Posh. Lisbie is known to have wanted the move as soon as Millwall’s interest first became known in early June. His 44 Posh appearances are his only EFL appearances.

The pressure will now return to the Posh hierarchy who have lost several key men from a side that only finished 18th in League One last season. Archie Collins, JJ Morgan, Tom Lees and now Lisbie have all departed.
