Peterborough United teenager is a hybrid of Ryan Bennett and Ben White!

Recent Peterborough United signing Ronnie Edwards has been described as a cross between Ryan Bennett and Ben White by club co-owner Darragh MacAnthony.

Edwards (17) is a classy centre-back Posh picked up from National League Barnet for a modest fee earlier this month.

MacAnthony said: “I haven’t seen Ronnie give the ball away yet. He’s like a hybrid of Ben White and Ryan Bennett.

“When Barry Fry was watching Ronnie play for Barnet Under 18s against Posh their chairman said he was the best player to ever emerge from their academy.

“And Darren Ferguson and Mark Robson knew they wanted Ronnie after watching him in a game for 15 minutes. I’ll be amazed if Ronnie doesn’t play many games for us this season.

“He’ll grow as well. I’ve met his father and he’s 6ft 7!”
