Peterborough United team: Should Posh switch to wing backs after Cheltenham turnaround and who should get the nod out of Joe Ward and Nathan Thompson?
The formation is the main issue to consider as the Peterborough Telegraph picks its team to face Morecambe on Saturday (August 6).

Speaking on Thursday (August 4) about whether he would stick with the wing back system that turned around the game in the second half at Cheltenham McCann said: “In every game, we will pick a team that we think will hurt the opposition and if that means a change in formation then so be it but it’s not about we played well in the second half at Cheltenham so let’s go with that again, it’s a lot more complicated that that.”
I will, however, be reverting to a 3-4-1-2 formation to allow to Posh to get more balls into the box wit their strong wing backs and I think it is the formation that best suits the players in the squad.
I have picked the team I would start, not the side I predict Grant McCann will put out.

9. JACK TAYLOR
Without Szmodics, I'd push Taylor the furthest forward of the three midfielders. Has shown he's got a great shot on him and excelled at times in that position in the Championship last year. Photo: Joe Dent
Struggled to make an impact in the first half at Cheltenham when Posh were not putting crosses in. As soon as they started to come, he scored twice. The change in formation should bring the best out of him, as well as having a genuine strike partner. Photo: Joe Dent
Proved once again that he is the best finisher at the club. Keeping him on the bench seems a waste when a partnership with Jonson Clarke-Harris would undoubtedly be the most fearsome one in League One. Photo: Joe Dent
On the bench I'm going for Will Blackmore, Nathan Thompson, Joe Tomlinson, Hector Kyprianou, David Ajiboye, Joel Randall and Ricky-Jade Jones. Photo: Joe Dent
