Peterborough United player set for a new deal plus injuries update from the chairman

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has issued an injury update on the latest edition of his ‘Hard Truth’ podcast.

Centre-back David Okagbue is expected to return to the Posh matchday squad for Saturday’s League One game at home to Wigan Athletic. He hasn’t played since the 1-1 home draw with Reading on December 29.

Defender Jacob Mendy is due back in around a fortnight so could make the Barnsley game at Oakwell on February 17. Mendy hasn’t played since the win at Port Vale on December 20.

Midfielder Ben Woods is due back in two-and-a-half weeks so that means the home game with Exeter City on February 21. Woods hasn’t been seen since the win at Rotherham United on New Year’s Day.

Rio Adebisi’s return has been put back an unspecified time. The left-back has made just one Posh substitute appearance on December 20, 2024 at Stockport.

MacAnthony also revealed that back-up first-team striker Pemi Aderoju is about to sign a new contract at Posh.
