PETERBOROUGH UNITED OLD BOYS: World Cup Finals dream for Ephron Mason-Clark is over, much to the delight of Gaby Zakuani
The World Cup Finals dream of former Peterborough United star Ephron Mason-Clark is over.
Mason-Clark, who now plays for Championship leaders Coventry City, was part of the Jamaica squad beaten 1-0 by DR Congo in a World Cup qualifying Final in Mexico on Tuesday might.

Mason-Clark made his Jamaica debut in a 1-0 qualifying win over New Caledonia, also in Mexico, last week, but started on the substitutes’ bench last night. He came on after 74 minutes of a match that went to extra time before the African nation scored a 110th minute winner to book their place in the World Cup Finals for the first time since 1974.
Former Posh promotion hero Gaby Zakuani is an advisor and scout for DR Congo. He has been used very successfully to persuade eligible players to commit to the DR Congo team.
Axel Tuanzebe, a former England youth team player, scored the goal for DR Congo. He had been persuaded by Zakuani to switch allegiance as had West Ham United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Meanwhile former Posh centre-back Manny Fernandez scored for Nigeria in a 2-2 friendly draw with Jordan in Turkey last night. The Rangers central defender was making just his second Nigeria appearance.
Current Posh players were also on international duty yesterday. Read details here
