Certainly two of the three changes I’m suggesting for Tuesday’s League One trip to Port Vale cover that scenario. The third change is more a matter of personal preference rather than a slight on the player I’m omitting.
My team is still playing a 4-2-1-3 formation.
9. KWAME POKU
It's a big pitch at Vale which could suit the direct running of David Ajiboye, but I just feel Poku's skill set is bigger and better. He should be fresh enough to show his best form again. He should also be motivated by the threat to his place caused by Ajiboye's improvement. Photo: Joe Dent
10. JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS
The fact neither Ricky-Jade Jones nor Jacob Wakeling came on despite a poor Posh showing on Saturday suggests the position of Clarke-Harris is safe despite four ordinary displays in a row. I agree with that, although I'm hoping Malik Mothersille will have the maturity to go with his raw talent when he is fully fit and ready for action. Three quick forwards would suit the current Posh style of play, but speed alone is not enough. Photo: Joe Dent
11. EPHRON MASON-CLARK
Slowly but surely his best form is returning and he has to stay out on the left for the foreseeable future. Two assists and then a goal in back-to-back games suggests that it's comfortably his best position. Photo: Joe Dent
