Posh need to avoid defeat to secure their place in the knockout rounds. Goal difference would see them through even if Wycombe went on to win a penalty shootout after a draw, so long as Tottenham Under 21s do not win by five goals.

Posh made wholesale changes for the first game of the group against Stevenage but picked a first-choice XI to face Spurs.

LIVE: Wycombe vs Posh

Key Events

  • 7pm kick-off
  • Posh need to draw to progress
  • Poku and Taylor unlikely to be risked
  • Second meeting between the sides in four days

About 20 minutes to kick-off.

Andrew Oluwabori makes the squad for the first time this season, he has been on loan and scoring at Kettering this season.

The forgotten man Joe Tomlinson returns but not David Ajiboye- which is an odd one. He even travelled with the team on Saturday and was also not on the bench there.

We’ll ask Grant for clarity on him after the match.

Max Stryjek, Jack Wakely, Chris Forino, Jasper Pattenden, Adam Leathers, Jack Grimmer, Daryl Horgan, Jack Young, Brandon Hanlan, Sullay Kaikai, D’Mani Mellor

Subs: Josh Blunkell, David Wheeler, Lewis Wing, Nick Freeman, Jordan Obita, Ben Kaninda, Christie Ward

Posh stick with the 4-3-3 it seems but make 7 changes from the weekend, Joe Ward at right back potentailly and Randall and EMC either side of Marriott?

Lucas Bergstrom, Joe Tomlinson, Kell Watts, Ronnie Edwards, Joe Ward, Harrison Burrows, Jeando Fuchs, Hector Kyprianou, Joel Randall, Ephron Mason-Clark, Jack Marriott

Subs: Will Blackmore, Josh Knight, Frankie Kent, Ben Thompson, Joe Taylor, Andrew Oluwabori, Jonson Clarke-Harris

Jack Taylor and Kwame Poku are thought to be progressing well but will not be risked tonight. Jones will definitely miss out.

It will be interesting to see the side McCann puts out, he has been clear that the cups are not a priority but he did put out a full-strength side against Spurs- that was partly to break a six-match losing run though.

Stevenage +4 6pts

Posh +2 3pts

Wycombe -3 2pts

Spurs -3 0pts

A draw will see Posh through, even if they go on to lose the shootout. The only way this will not be the case is if Spurs win by 5 goals at Stevenage, which is very unlikely given their results so far.

Posh are back at Adams Park already just when we were hoping to forget about the weekend.

The EFL Trophy is on the agenda on this occasion. Can Posh go better this time?
