Peterborough United had no answer to Stockport County's professional 'killer'
Stockport County boss Dave Challinor hailed ‘the killer’ in his team after Peterborough United were despatched 3-1 in a League One fixture at Edgeley Park on Saturday.
On-loan Aston Villa forward Louie Barry hit s hat-trick after Harry Leonard had fired Posh into a 14th minute lead. They were Barry’s first goals since December 2024 and all were similar finishes curled in from the left with his right foot. He had had enjoyed a superb loan spell at County in the first half of last season.

“Louie is at a place where he feels comfortable again,” Challinor said: “That makes feel able to do what he does and when a player is playing below his natural level he can be difficult to stop.
"We lost 1-0 on Tuesday when our finishing spoilt a good performance and the first-half of this game was similar, but this time we had a killer in the penalty area. It was n surprise he scored how he did because he must have scored three quarters of his goals for us in that way.
“And once we got our second goal we were comfortable until a few careless moments towards the end. We also gave away a sloppy goal, but overall it was a good result and a brilliant performance.”
County still require a point from their final to games to seal a place in the play-offs, the first of which is at home to relegated Port Vale on Tuesday.
