Peterborough United boss issues fitness update on Tom O'Connor
Peterborough United boss Luke Williams will not be taking any chances with the fitness of centre-back Tom O’Connor.
The 27-year-old limped out of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday after just 14 minutes and is believed to be suffering from a groin/hip problem.

Williams has said he is not expecting a long lay-off but that Posh must be careful with their man and were always aware that he would face setbacks after returning from a hamstring problem that kept him out between January and August.
Williams said: “Realistically, we had to expect him to need some kind of management because of such a long lay-off and such a huge injury.
“We need to try and maintain his conditioning and also give him a chance to recover at the same time.
“It would be crazy of us to expect him after that length of lay-off and missing pre-season, to come in and not pick up anything secondary.
“He’s got a chance for this weekend but we need to be convinced he’s going to be able to cope enough."
Williams also gave updates on a number of other injured players with Owura Edwards rated at the most likely to feature at Milton Keynes this weekend.
Owura Edwards- “He’s progressing very well. We don’t see any real issues. He managed the problem well and made sure that he didn’t push himself once he felt something and that gave the medical team a chance to get him back very quickly.
Vernon Masara- “He’s still struggling somewhat. He’s still uncomfortable when he’s pushing to the last stages of his rehab. He needs a little bit longer.
Carl Johnston- “He’s just opened up the medial side of his knee too much now and he’s got some sensation when pushing off in the final stage of his rehab. He just needs a bit of time and this weekend might be too soon.”
