The PT has found six Posh promotion winners who also turned out for Stevenage, plus a couple of others who often excelled at London Road as well as a manager who didn’t!

5. CHARLIE LEE
A firm fans' favourite at Posh from the moment he moved from Spurs to London Road in May, 2007. Another to be involved in the Posh promotion campaigns of 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2010-11 as a midfielder and then a full-back. Scored 16 goals (including important ones against Cobblers, Leicester City and a promotion-winning strike at Colchester) in 177 Posh appearances before moving to Gillingham in July 2011. He then left Gills for Stevenage for whom he played 130 times. Photo: PT

6. CRAIG MACKAIL-SMITH
A true Posh legend and another member of the triple promotion-winning club. He left for Brighton after helping Posh to victory in the 2010-11 League One play-off final at Old Trafford and went on to play for 'The Seagulls' in the Premier League and for Scotland in international football. Mackail-Smith played 233 times for Posh in three spells and scored 104 goals. He finished his career on loan at Stevenage from Wycombe Wanderers in the 2019-20 season, making 23 appearances, scoring once. Photo: Joe Dent

7. CHRISTY PYM
A much-maligned Posh goalkeeper, mainly for an unseemly bust-up with manager Darren Ferguson which led to him being banished on loan to Stevenage in the second-half of the 2021-22 season. He played 23 times under the management of Steve Evans in a successful fight against relegation from the Football League. Before then he had played a big part in the Posh promotion campaign from League One in 2020-21, making 40 appearances for a side who would finish second. Pym played 94 times for Posh in total before helping Mansfield to promotion from League Two. Now back in League Two with Grimsby Town. Photo: Joe Dent

8. SEAN ST LEDGER
The ball-playing central defender came through the youth ranks at Posh and before he established himself in the first team he had a month on loan at non-league Stevenage in the 2003-04 season. St Ledger made 91 appearances for Posh, scoring once, and was then sold to Preston North End for a reported £225k. He went on to win 37 caps for Ireland. Photo: PT
