MK Dons boss pours cold water on the chances of Peterborough United signing his 30 year-old midfielder
MK Dons boss Paul Warne appears to have poured very cold water on the chances of his midfielder Liam Kelly moving to Peterborough United.
The 30 year-old was linked with a move to London Road on Friday evening, but played for MK in their 2-0 friendly win over Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

After the game Warne was quizzed on reported Posh interest in a player who won the MK ‘player-of-the-season’ prize last term.
Warne told the MK Citizen: “I do believe a bid came in, I don’t know how much for, but three things have to happen for a deal to go ahead. The player needs to want to go, the manager then allows him to go and the owner is happy with the bid. As it stands at the moment, I don’t think any of those are the case.
“I cannot see it happening, however, I bet Newcastle couldn’t see Eddie Howe leaving either. Crazy things can happen in football.
“As it stands, Liam started today and has been excellent all pre-season, and he continues to be our player until those three things change.
“Liam has been great for me, so I don’t know why anyone would think we want to move him on. He won our ‘Player-of-the-Year’ last season in about 12 different categories. He played virtually every minute he has been standing up. He has been great.
“As we stand now, I don’t see any legs in it.”
Kelly moved to MK after helping a gifted Crawley Town to promotion from League Two in the 2023-24 season.
Posh are desperate to make new signings ahead of next Saturday's Carabao Cup te at Bristol Rovers (August 8). Kelly is seen as an ideal replacement for Posh midfielder Archie Collins.
