Cleared, Posh try to break but Norburn’s ball up to Dembele is headed away by Morrison. JCH picks up and plays a poor ball to gift possession away and Reading now have a fre0kick on the edge of the Posh box.

Reading corner, Coventry pushes Swift off the ball, has the choice of anywhere to put the clearance but for some reason chooses out for a corner.

Straight into the arms of Southwood from Butler.

After a bit of a lull, Posh spark into life, Thompson feeds JCH on the edge of the box, first time pass to Ward arriving in the box on the right, just cut out by Yiadom, corner.

Such a different game for Edwards tonight than Plymouth, he’s cut out three crosses that have come into the box in quick succession and looks like he’s been at the heart of the Posh backline for years.

Corner played short to Dembele. Jinks his way past Ejaria and into the box on the right, stands up a ball to the backpost, JCH rises and heads back across goal, Edwards is arriving but can’t get there ahead of Morrison, Posh settling back into a decent pattern after the break.

JCH and Marriott nearly pull off a perfect 1-2 to get JCH in on goal but Marriott’s backheel is just cut out. Corner.

Poor throw but the ball is headed back to him and his low cross has Southwood diving forward to punch away off the feet of Kent, a bit of panic stations.

Not exactly a brisk start, Posh teams jostling for possession in the middle of the park. Dembele hauled down in the centre circle. Free kick headed out, Ward with the chance to try a long throw
