LIVE BLOG: Reading vs Posh

Key Events

  • 3-1 FT
  • Posh still looking for first away points of the season and stay 23rd
  • 0-0 at the break with Posh having the better of the play
  • Two goals in three second half minutes sees Posh trail 2-0
  • Thompson header from a Ward free-kick gives Posh hope

Marriott has pulled his hamstring. Down on the far side after pulling up, presumably Szmodics will come on.

Posh have got their tails up now. A couple of balls are flung into the box from Ward and Butler and Southwood is far from convincing. Thompson stayed up and nearly managed to flick goalwards. If only Posh hadn’t had that mad few minutes. Still, another goal is there.

POSH HAVE SCORED A SET PIECE

Ward dinks a ball over to the backpost, there is Thompson getting above his man to head down and into the net. We can’t see a replay, it seems the big screen only shows home goals.

Posh have looked well in this game all night, Reading have hardly threatened, Posh too it must be said but out of nothing, a poor bit of play from JCH and a defensive switch off sees Posh 2-0 down against one of the poorer sides they will paly all season.

Free-kick on the right of the box, Dembele fouled by Yiadom. ward to take.

Absolutely dreadful, two goals in three minutes conceded again. Just like Saturday, when it happened twice. Posh are lucky it wasn't three when the defence parted like the Red Sea and allowed Puscas to shoot just inside the box, his shot went just over when he should have done better. All Reading now.

Swift fires across the face of the goal. Hoilett lets it run and it falls to Dele-Bashiru. Ward doesn’t get tight and he’s allowed to tack a touch, pick his spot and bury it in the bottom right corner.

Taylor on for Coventry

Hoilett on for Halilovic.

John Swift puts the free-kick into the far post from 20 yards, Pym dives to his left but can’t get there. That all came from JCH giving the ball away, only to track and foul his man.
