Good block from Knight on the edge of his own box from a Whiteman shot. Preston started the brighter
Another twitchy moment, Pym receives a pass from Norburn and plays a quick pass out to Knight, who has his back to goal and doesn’t see it straight away. He manages to switch on just in time but Preston are pressing the backline early and getting encouragement.
Just what you don’t want to see, Pym, Knight and Butler playing a slow triangle of passes between themselves and losing the ball, fortunately Thompson manages to cut out Sinclair’s ball into the box.
Back three for Preston, Maguire and Sinclair upfront. Maguire might be smaller than Pym, that’s a relief.
Thompson captains the side
Another game, another new captain for Posh, Thompson this time and the team is expected. After two goals in two games, Burrows keeps his place and Szmodics takes his place on the bench.
Beevers misses out through the hamstring injury sustained in the draw with Cardiff, expect to find out about the extent of that injury after the match.
