Peterborough United are targeting a win in a crucial meeting with fellow Championship strugglers Barnsley this afternoon (November 27, 3pm).

Poya Asbaghi takes charge of only his second Barnsley match in the hope of turning around an alarming run that has seen the Tykes win just one of their last 17 league matches. Posh, meanwhile, are looking to end a run of five without a run with another impressive home display.

Posh’s formation change has opened this game right up. Thompson bombs forward right to the penalty area but he telegraphs his pass and it’s easily cut out. Barnsley break down the right and the ball ends up with Morris, he cuts inside shoots at goal but his effort is never curling enough. A warning shot though.

Played short to Coventry this time, not a good ball in, too floaty but Collins didn’t look comfortable under that. Punched just about clear, Willaims gets lucky his tackle deflects back off Dembele for a goal kick.

Posh definitely looking more threatening, Good ball for JCH from Dembele, well read by Kitching, who only just clears in time. Another corner.

I thought that was in! Coventry takes to the near post, Helik gets up and the ball comes off his head and into the side-netting. Half the ground thought that was in.

First corner, great ball from Thompson across to Butler, good acorss and Barnsley put it out of play.

Posh have come out in a 4-4-2. Burrows on the right, Dembele on the left of midfield.

Key half-time scores

Hull 1-1 Millwall

Swansea 1-2 Reading

Luton 0-1 Cardiff

Not exactly going Posh’s way, at least Millwall have equalised but Posh really need to win this.

Posh spring into life, Cornell hoofs a goalkick, Dembele picks up and sprays it out wide to Burrows, He fires a low ball into the box, JCH tires to get into the box but slips over on the edge, Corbett gets there though but the ball ends up a bit behind him and he manages to scoop it towards goal as he falls but its wide from a tight angle.

Barnsley not being troubled by Posh. Too many poor cross-field passes, too easy to defend or they just go out of play.
