LIVE BLOG: Luton vs Posh

Key Events

  • 3-0 Luton FT
  • Adebayo gives Luton the lead from a corner after half an hour
  • JCH and Marriott have just one pre-season appearance each but could start
  • First game back at Championship level for Posh since 2013
  • Luton score twice in three second half minutes
  • Taylor, Marriott and Dembele miss out completely

Lucky escape for Beevers as he puts out an arm to stop Adebayo flicking it by him to be through on goal. Luton fans want a red but its yellow.

Ethan Hamilton replaces Knight. Like for like bur Knight has struggled today.

Randall comes onto the left with the Grealish socks rolled down, his first dribble is promising as he draws space for Butler but his cross is tamely chipped into the hands of Sluga.

The million pound man Joel Randall comes on for Tomlinson. A little unfair on the lad to play him out of position on his debut when he;s making a step-up three leagues for me. He’s done ok but its clear he’s not a winger and doesn’t think like one.

Definitely more intent to press from Posh this half. Beevers all the way in the opposing half and Szmodics is just offside from the ball forward.

Yellow card for Knight. Forceful challenge through the back of Clark.

Pym goes short to Beevers, he is pressed and tries to turn inside on his weaker foot. He’s about to lose it but Grant rescues him and hoofs the ball clear.

Another driving run into the box from Luton. This time from Adebayo but Kent does well to slide in and knock the ball back off him for a corner.

Slower tempo to this second half and that could be Posh’s way into this is Luton decide to sit off. Not any sings of that yet though but Knight is pushing much higher this half.

No changes at half time for either side but I could hear Darragh angrily shouting “what have I been saying about square pegs in round holes.”
