Former Peterborough United boss endures sacking chants, another ex-manager sees off Cambridge United and winning FA Cup goals for former players
A former Peterborough United manager also endured a nasty FA Cup experience on Saturday.
Grant McCann had to suffer taunts and abuse from his own Doncaster Rovers fans after a 3-0 defeat for the League One side at National League outfit Kidderminster Harriers. It followed quickly on from a 6-1 duffing at MK Dons in League One.

McCann told the Doncaster Free Press: “It really hurts. When fans are singing ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ and that ‘the players aren’t
fit to wear the shirt.’
"I've brought every single one of the to the club, so that's another indictment on me. The boys are really stinging in the dressing room. They’re hurt.
"What I do know in football is that you've got two choices. You throw it all up in the air or you carry on and you stick together. You get through the dark times.
"It's a really tough period. We're not performing well enough. We're not doing the basics of football well enough.
“The fans are entitled to their opinions. All we can do is make sure that we are united as a group. There's a real siege mentality in there. We stick together, like we always do.”
It was a better first round day for another old Posh boss as Steve Evans’ Bristol Rovers beat Cambridge United 2-0 in a performance losing boss Neil Harris described as ‘embarrassing.’
Elsewhere in the FA Cup former Posh winger David Ajiboye scored the only goal as National League Carlisle United beat League Two side Salford City and ex-Posh forward Joel Randall came off the bench to claim the winning goal as Chesterfield beat Yeovil Town 4-3.
One-time Posh defender Carl Piergianni scored the only goal as Stevenage won at League One rivals Oxford United.
The on-loan Posh players didn’t feature much. Klaidi Lolos played the final 14 minutes of Rotherham United’s 2-0 win at Bromley, while David Kamara was an even later sub as Tranmere Rovers bowed out 3-0 at Barnet. George Nevett was an unused sub in that game as was Brad Ihionvien as Colchester United pipped non-league Worcester City 1-0.
