Peterborough United boss puts positive spin on disappointing Carabao Cup draw as date for the tie is confirmed
Peterborough United will host League One rivals Barnsley in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
It’s a meagre reward for a 5-1 thumping of Championship side Watford in the second round on Tuesday.

Barnsley beat Posh three times last season, home and away in League One and in the second round of the FA Cup.
But Posh boss Luke Williams has tried to put a positive spin on the draw. He said: “It’s lovely to be at home. It will be very tough as Barnsley are a good side, but we must approach the game as a chance to get through and increase our chances of a tie against a huge club.
"We would deserve that after winning three tough ties, but Barnsley will be thinking just the same.”
The tie will take place on Tuesday, September 15 (7.30pm kick off).
Full third round draw: Crystal Palace v Middlesbrough, Man Utd v Brighton, Man City v Norwich, Sunderland v Hull, Ipswich v Arsenal, Coventry v Villa, Bournemouth v Lincoln, Liverpool v Spurs, Chelsea or Luton v Leeds, Millwall v Newcastle, Fleetwood v Sheff Utd, Everton v Wolves, Leyton Orient v Bradford, Reading v Brentford, Peterborough v Barnsley, West Ham v Fulham or Wimbledon.
