Burton Albion boss frustrated not to make Peterborough United pay in the first half at the Weston Homes Stadium
Burton Albion boss Gary Bowyer felt his side should have put the game to bed in the first half of a 1-1 draw at Peterborough United on Sunday.
Burton spurned chances against a wobbly Posh defence before taking the lead through Charlie Webster’s deflected strike in the 45th minute.

Posh hit back in a second-half when they created the better chances with Harry Leonard equalising with a rasping low drive on the hour mark.
The draw moves both teams four points clear of the relegation zone. Burton have played a game more than Posh, but they avoid defeat at home fourth-from-bottom Exeter City next Saturday (April 25) ‘The Brewers’ would be safe. Posh would still need a point although they kick off earlier at high-flying Stockport County (12.30pm).
Bowyer said: “You look at the chances that we had, we had to be out of sight in terms of clear-cut opportunities. We did get to half-time with a wonderful goal from Charlie., but it’s about having the mentality to take that responsibility and we didn’t do that. We allowed them to get back into the game and into a flow by giving some cheap fouls away.
“I’ve told the lads that when you have those chances you have to be out of sight and when the momentum goes against you, you have to see it out.
“It comes back and bites you. It’s the game of football – you’re never going to have it all your own way.
“The most important thing is when we were struggling, second half, we made sure we left here with something. We were looking for the next goal at 1-1, but we had to make sure we took the point and we did that.
“We’re a point better off than where we were this morning so we take that.”
