Another hat-trick for Kwame Poku as Peterborough United honour their stars of the season
Winger Kwame Poku scooped a hat-trick of awards at the Peterborough United Awards night.
Poku, who has racked up impressive goals and assist stats despite missing 15 League One games, won the ‘Players’ Player-of-the-Year, the ‘Forever Posh ‘Player-of-the-Year’ and the Junior Posh ‘Player-of-the-Year prizes. It’s not his first hat-trick of the season after a memorable treble in a 6-1 thrashing of Cambridge United at the Weston Homes Stadium in November, but he missed out on a clean sweep of awards when the Posh Away Travel vote went to midfielder Archie Collins.
Winning the Vertu Trophy was named ‘Moment-of-the-Year’ and the free kick scored by Harley Mills in that 2-0 win over Birmingham City at Wembley was name ‘Goal-of-the-Season.’
Awards were also handed out to Posh Under 21s, Posh Under 18s, Posh Women and Posh Women Under 23s. Double winners were Joe Davies (Under 18s), Ollie Rose (Under 21s), Keir Perkins (Posh Women) and Jess Abrantes (Posh Women Under 23s).
