NON-LEAGUE: Daniels are refusing to go down, Fenmen tame Tigers

If Mickleover Sports collect a point from their penultimate fixture at Nantwich tonight, the Daniels are doomed, but if there’s a home win then it’s very much game on. Stamford’s final fixture is at home to Mickleover on Saturday when a win could confirm a second Great Escape in successive seasons for Graham Drury’s side.
Stamford also have a six-goal difference deficit to overcome, but they survived in thrilling style on the final day last season so nothing should be ruled out!

Hide AdThe Daniels fell beind in the second minute last night but quickly equalised through Jordan Smith. Further goals from Greg Smith, Jake Newman and Lee Beeson kept the season alive for 24 hours longer at least.
In the United Counties Premier Division Dick Creasey steered Wisbech Town to a first win in his fourth spell as manager at Fenland Park.
The Fenmen beat Holbeach 2-1. It was a fourth successive defeat for ‘The Tigers’ as early goals from Stuart Cobb and Danny Beaumont proved decisive. Olli Donald pulled a goal back for Holbeach before the break.
Holbeach are back in Premier Division action at Rothwell Corinthians tomorrow (April 21).
