In-form Peterborough Sports and Spalding United remain upwardly mobile, but Stamford AFC are rooted to the bottom
Peterborough Sports and Spalding United remain upwardly mobile in their respective divisions.
Sports won a thrilling Southern Premier Division Central contest 4-2 against Rushall Olympic at PIMS Park to move up a place to 11th after stretching an unbeaten league run to four games.

And Spalding United are up to a remarkable fourth place in National League North after coming from behind to beat fellow high fliers Bedford Town 2-1 at the Sir Halley Stewart Stadium.
To the surprise of no-one free scoring striker Bart Cybulski scored both goals for ‘The Tulips’ against ‘The Eagles.’
Spalding boss Jimmy Dean said: “The lads showed great endeavour to get back into the game and then to win it. It was a little bit of hard watch in the first half, but we got a goal at a good time before the break. Bedford had a lot of territory, but we looked a real danger whenever we turned the ball over."
Spalding have now won three matches on the spin and Polish star Cybulski already has 11 goals to his name this season.
Sports were involved in a topsy-turvey game against Rushall and scored four goals without the services of absent top scorer Leon Lobjoit.
Michael Richens converted two first-half penalties to put Sports in command, but two visiting strikes in the final five minutes of the half, the first from another penalty, made it 2-2 at the break. Alex Moore scored both Rushall goals.
It was nip and tuck in the second-half until Ben Hart’s 75th-minute volley, after Ben Beresford had flicked on a long kick from goalkeeper Sam Edwards, flew into the net.
A brave block from central defender Joe Burgess denied Rushall an injury-time leveller and the points were then wrapped up by a Michael Frew goal, just a minute after he’d arrived as a late substitute.
Stamford AFC remain rooted to the bottom of the table after a seventh defeat in seven games. Second-placed Alvechurch beat 'The Daniels’ 4-0 today. Stamford have scored just one goal in those seven matches.
