Following Turner’s sad passing back in April 2015 a small group of dedicated supporters pulled together with the sole intention to ensure the former, player, captain, manager and owner was honoured in a way befitting to his achievements at Peterborough United throughout his lifetime.

After much deliberation, the overwhelming popular choice on how to commemorate Chris, was with a ‘life size bronze statue’ that would be positioned outside London Road, providing fans a focal point to pay their respects to the ‘great man’. With approval from the City Council forthcoming, the committee sought to raise funds to complete the £83,000 project.
