They may have stood the test of time since medieval days, but Storm Doris has damaged Peterborough Cathedral's grand doors.

Officials have had to close the main entrance of the cathedral this afternoon, Thursday February 23, after the high winds stripped metal off of the doors.

Not even a pile of rocks were strong enough to keep the great doors open as Storm Doris whistled through the nave.

Visitors to Peterborough Cathedral are having to use an alternative entrance.
