Nene Park Academy in Peterborough closes early due to lack of drinking water - and water for toilets
A Peterborough school is expected to re-open tomorrow (January 7) – after it was forced to close early today due to issues with water supply caused by the freezing temperatures.
Pupils at Nene Park Academy were ‘released’ just after lunch today (Tuesday, January 6).
Robin Grover, Principal at the school, said: “Earlier today, we made the decision to close the academy for the afternoon following an issue with the school’s main water supply following recent weather conditions. As drinking water and toilet facilities were unavailable, students were released from 1.15pm.
“I would like to thank our students, staff, parents and carers for their understanding and cooperation. We expect the academy to be open as normal tomorrow and will continue to share further updates through our usual communication channels if needed.”
