Van found in Fenland drain near Chatteris
The B1098 has been closed at Chatteris this morning, Monday July 11, after a van was found in the water at Sixteen Foot Bank
The road was shut at its junction with the A142 at around 7.15am and all emergency services attended the scene.
It has since been discovered that the van’s engine and bonnet is missing and police believe it has been dumped in the water rather than an accident taking place.
The road remains closed up to its junction with the B1093 Manea Road however while recovery takes place.
