Two hospitalised and one arrested after crash at Maxey

Two people were taken to hospital and one arrested after a serious crash in Mill Road, Maxey last night, Sunday.

Police and fire crews from Dogsthorpe and Market Deeping were called at 4.45pm to the two-vehicle collision involving a Land Rover and a Citroen Berlingo van.

Firefighters rescued a man and a woman from the Land Rover using specialist cutting equipment, who were taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

The male van driver, who was also injured, was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the alcohol limit and taken to hospital.

The road was cleared by 8.43pm.
