Long delays on Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough following Tuesday night's crash between Stanground and Boongate

Central reservation was badly damaged in crash on Tuesday

There are long delays on the Frank Perkins Parkway, and the surrounding roads today (Wednesday, June 4) following a crash on Tuesday evening (June 3).

The safety barriers were badly damaged in the incident.

The one lane of each carriageway remains closed this morning.

Thankfully, there were no serious injuries reported.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.08pm yesterday (3 June) with reports a HGV had collided with the central reservation on the Frank Perkins Parkway (A1139) in Peterborough.

“The collision happened close to the Stanground junction with the A605.

“No injuries were reported and two lanes were closed while in the incident was dealt with.”

There is no information about how long repairs will take on the road.

A Peterborough City Council spokesperson said: “We are currently working with contractors to assess the damage and arrange repairs. The lane closures will remain in place until repairs have been completed.”
