Drivers urged to stick to traffic rules outside Peterborough household waste centre
There have been reports of long queues outside the Household Recycling Centre in Fengate , with drivers breaking traffic rules - including driving on footpaths.
Today a Peterborough City Council spokesman said: “There is currently traffic management at the site including signage and cones directing traffic along and staff managing incoming traffic into the site.

Hide Ad“We want to thank residents for adhering to the current rules and restrictions we have in place and for being patient as operations are delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions and guidance.
“However, there are a few residents wanting to access the site causing traffic issues by not adhering to to the restrictions on queuing on the main Fengate road. Those not adhering to signage have resulted in the blocking of the road and long queues where there shouldn’t be.
“We are continuing to work with our highways colleagues and looking at how we can improve the situation as the traffic levels at certain times are reaching capacity, however this is hard to predict as peak times do not always follow a certain pattern “.
