Listed former office building in Peterborough city centre to be converted into co-living accommodation
Plans have been submitted to convert a listed building in Peterborough city centre into co-living accommodation.
An application has been submitted by Real Property Assets Limited to convert 43 Priestgate into a co-living facility with 19 single occupancy en-suite rooms.
The building is currently office space that was once used by estate agents Carter Jonas.
The application states that the facility would ‘offer high quality accommodation to a diverse range of residents across a number of age groups.’

All residents would have to be in either employment or full-time students.
It is anticipated that potential residents could include: students at Peterborough University, professionals on short term or part time assignments in the city, retirees who want a flexible communal living environment in a central location and single people saving to buy a home.
All costs would be covered under a single monthly charge including utility bills, broadband, and cleaning services.
The application states: “The proposal will create new residential accommodation within the city centre, helping to protect and enhance its vitality and viability.
This development is clearly a sustainable proposal which will improve the economic, social and
environmental conditions of the area.
"The scheme offers the additional benefit of bringing an empty building back into use and the provision of residential accommodation in the city centre.”
The application can be viewed on Peterborough City Council’s planning portal using reference 26/002520/FUL.
