Police in Peterborough arrest man in connection with Crown Street murder

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Peterborough yesterday morning (Saturday, May 8) have made an arrest.

Police were called out to a flat in Crown Street, New England, at about 5am where it was reported there had been a fight and a man had been stabbed.

It is believed the victim is a man in his 20s however formal identification is yet to take place.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in Peterborough earlier this afternoon on suspicion of assisting an offender.

DCI Emma Pitts, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit (MCU), said: “We are continuing to follow up a number of enquiries and working hard to bring those responsible to justice.

“I would like to thank all those who have been in contact with us so far however I would still urge anyone who may have information and we have not yet been in contact with, to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.”
