WATCH as man already banned from the roads is caught drink driving by police
A man who was already banned from the roads has been jailed after he was caught drink driving in Fenland.
Cambridgeshire police say that Vytautas Gailys (65) was stopped by officers in High Street, March, on April 3 after police received reports of him driving erratically.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers could smell alcohol on his breath, and a breathalyser returned a reading of 103ugs – nearly three times the legal limit.
“Gailys, of Eastwood Avenue, March, was arrested and taken into custody, where evidential samples were taken.

The spokesperson said: “It was also discovered Gailys had been banned from driving last year after being convicted of driving or attempting to drive with alcohol above the legal limit.”
Gailys was jailed for 18 weeks and disqualified from driving for 43 months at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on April 4 having admitted drink driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.
Afterwards, PC Fran Plitsch said: “Gailys’s actions were completely irresponsible.
"Drink driving puts lives at risk and it’s only luck that nobody was injured on this occasion.
“I’d like to thank the member of the public who called us to report their concerns about his driving.”
