Victorian rail shed at Peterborough’s Fletton Quays is on the market

A former Victorian railway shed, which is the last development plot at Peterborough’s Fletton Quays, has been put up for sale.

The goods shed, which was part of the former Peterborough East railway station, extends to 12,357 sq ft with a total site area of

0.815 acres.

It is the final development opportunity - known as FQ4 - for sale at the city’s flagship waterside development, Fletton Quays.

The property has outline planning consent for a variety of commercial uses including retail, leisure, community and arts, education and medical.

The sale is by tender and prospective purchasers have until noon on May 14 to submit bids.

The sale has been announced by commercial agents Eddisons incorporating Barker Storey Matthews on behalf of the Peterborough Investment Partnership.

Julian Welch, director at Eddisons, said: “Fletton Quays was always going to be a landmark project in Peterborough and the development is already delivering high quality space.

“FQ4 offer the last opportunity to be part of this exciting scheme.”

Fletton Quays is the largest development in Peterborough city centre for more than 40 years.

The 6.5 hectares site already hosts the new headquarters of Peterborough City Council and the Construction Industry Training Board and development has started on a 70,000 sq ft office building, providing a ‘Government hub’ for the Passport Agency and other official departments.

Fletton Quays also features 350 high quality apartments with more homes planned as part of the ongoing development which includes a new 160-hotel being built on behalf of Hilton Garden Inn.

An announcement about the buyer of the Whitworth Mill site at Fletton Quays is expected in the next few days.
