Time to go Out Out again and help NHS charity
There’s a chance to see local singing star Malcolm Fovargue in the city next week as the fundraising “Out Out” night returns.
Soul singer Malcolm created the Wirrina record label with his good friend Stef Malajny and the first single “Turning My World Around” has taken the Soul World by storm.
The duo have been putting together enough material for an album but they haven’t forgotten the Out Out fundraisers in aid of charity which have been running since Covid, and they have another event on 26th September at the Met Lounge – which many older folk will remember as Anabelles and the slightly less older as Canters and Winners.
It is now run by the duo’s friend Steve Jason, who is letting them use the venue free of charge to help raise money for a good cause.
Its a trip down memory lane as the venue hasn’t changed too much down the years and it is the chance to see Malcolm, supported by his Fovargue backing singers, with Paul Hughes overseeing a wonderful percussion system.
Young Elle Quinn will debut with a small set of soulful tunes.
The DJ line up is an eclectic mix with Jamie Trundle, the main man at Sunny Hunny Soul weekenders spinning the vinyl, and then from Benidorm Palace, Avril Kesteven will represent Spain. Also the House of Soul crew will be behind the decks with Wirrina favourite Inky.
Tickets for Out Out on September 26 – raising money for the NHS North West Anglia Hospitals Charity once more – can be purchased online at https://tinyurl.com/PEQuinn2609
Steve Jason added “It is a great honour that I can be involved in this wonderful fundraiser. Stef and I go right back to the S&M Entertainment days when he and Tony Scibelli claimed they mentored me in my young disco days! We have recently lost Tony so we will spin a few tunes in his memory and have a video playing with many pictures from the S & M events.”
