Step out on to dance floor with a star of the ballroom in Peterborough

There is a rare chance for Peterborough people to step out on to dance floor with a star of the ballroom.

Former BBC Strictly Come Dancing champion Giovanni Pernice is to host two dance lessons in Peterborough.

The lessons will take place at the theatre at Queen Katherine Academy, Walton Community Centre, Mountsteven Avenue, on June 20.

A spokesperson said: "Giovanni Pernice is coming to Peterborough to teach 2 group classes open to all.

"You don’t have to be a ‘dancer’ - those with two left feet are most definitely welcome as well.

"Gio will teach a different style each class, picked from the dances you’re used to seeing on Strictly Come Dancing.

“He focuses on making everyone feel good and enjoying the dance as much as learning the steps, and it’s done in a really relaxing environment.” The day involves two dance workshops.and starts at 9.30am with registration followed by the level one lesson – for those looking to learn the basic techniques of ballroom dancing – taking place from 10am to 11am.

The level two lesson is from 11.30am to 12.30pm for those keen to tackle more challenging steps and timings, great for those who are comfortable with basic steps and choreo or who just want to get stuck in.

Both classes are for people aged 12 years and above.
