Special celebration revealed to commemorate life of musician and ‘absolute legend' Chris Allen
A special musical celebration is to be staged in Peterborough in tribute to the musician and ‘absolute legend' Chris Allen.
The memorial is planned to take place at The Cresset later this year and will commemorate the life of the much-loved musician and singer who passed away in March.

Chris, who died aged 70 after a battle with cancer, had been a key part of the Peterborough music scene for many years.
Hundreds of well wishers packed into Peterborough Cathedral last month to say a special farewell to Chris, who as well as being a musician was a teacher and a lifeguard at Peterborough Lido.
The new tribute is being organised by Colin Smith who unveiled his plans in a Facebook announcement with details about a band line-up and how to get tickets still to be revealed.
Proceeds from the event are to be donated to Thorpe Hall Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Colin posted: “I can now announce that there will be a celebration and memorial of the life of our wonderful friend, Mr Chris Allen, on Saturday 12th September at The Cresset, Peterborough.
“The full band line-up will be announced very shortly.
“All the money we raise will be shared between Thorpe Hall Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support, as this was Chris' specific wish.
He stated: “Tickets will be available exclusively through The Cresset Box Office.
“They are not on sale just yet, so please don't contact the box office at this stage.
"I'll let everyone know as soon as tickets are available. Just save the date in your diaries please!
“I'll also be setting up a dedicated event page as soon as I can.
“Please help us spread the word, my lovelies, so we can raise as much money as possible for these two incredible causes while giving Chris the celebration he truly deserves.”
Following Chris’ death, Keith Lewington of the Peterborough Musicians group on Facebook described Chris as an “absolute legend of the Peterborough music scene.”
“[He] played in many bands over the years… Salmon Dave, Brotherhoods Roundabout, The Motivators and Gobblinz to name a few.”
“[He] will be sorely missed not by hundreds but by thousands of people.”
