School delivers hundreds of masks to Peterborough hospital - and needs help to make even more
To date Oakham School’s Design and Technology department have made circa 1,800 face shields and distributed them to the NHS and local Key Workers.
There are currently five members of the DT Department who are working hard to produce as many masks as possible. Other members of the School are helping to distribute them.

Hide AdHundreds of the masks have been delivered to Peterborough ICU, Leicester Royal Infirmary and Lincoln hospital, and the team are now working to make a stock for Kettering Hospital.
They have also provided masks for the staff at Rutland Memorial, Melton and Market Harborough hospitals, to numerous doctors’ surgeries across Rutland, as well as further afield in Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire and care homes and care providers, along with other Key Workers such as specialist schools and mental health institutions.
The school is now appealing for donations to allow them to keep manufacturing the masks. Funds will be used to keep machines running and buy materials.
