Retailer Beales to open new Peterborough store today

The retailer will begin trading from the ground floor of Westgate House, in Westgate, a year after the closure of the original Beales store.
The department store will open its doors to customers at 9am.

Hide AdTony Brown chief executive of Beales, said: “We’re all very excited to be opening the store in Peterborough again.”
The new store employs about 30 staff in a mix of full-time and part-time roles. Many of the the employees are former Beales staff.
Beales had operated in Peterborough for nine years until the national retailer, which was headquartered in Bournemouth, went into administration last year.
Its brand and web address were bought by New Start 2020, of which Mr Brown is a director.

Hide AdThe opening of the new store comes a few days earlier than expected.
Originally, the opening had been due to take place next week.
But Mr Brown said the installation of fixtures and fittings and the stocking up had progressed quicker than anticipated.
The store will occupy the ground floor.
It is one of two new retail openings in Peterborough.
Peterborough-based Yours Clothing is to open a dual brand Yours Clothing/BadRhino store inside the the Tesco store, in Serpentine Green, in Hampton. The new store will open at 9.30am.

Hide AdIt is part of an exciting new partnership deal between Yours Clothing and supermarket giant Tesco, which will also see Yours Clothing open an outlet inside Tesco at Walsall next month.
Andrew Killingsworth, chief executive of Yours Clothing, said: “As the retail environment adapts to a new way of working, opening stores in partnership with Tesco is an exciting development for us and assists with our ongoing growth plans.”
