Relay for Life to celebrate Peterborough cancer survivors - and remember lost loved ones

A special event to be held at Peterborough Athletics Track will celebrate cancer survivors – and remember lost loved ones.

Cancer Research UK’s Relay For Life will be taking place at the track, located at Peterborough Embankment, on Saturday, September 13.

During the day of the Relay, team members take it in turns to walk around a track for 10 hours to represent the non-stop fight we face to beat cancer.

A poignant candle of hope ceremony will take place in the evening, where candles can be dedicated to those we have lost to cancer, mark those who are under treatment for Cancer and celebrate the hope of those who have survived Cancer. Survivors of Cancer will be special guests of the event, and the 10 hour relay begins with a lap of honour for survivors

Teams are needed to take part in the event, which will run from 10am until 8pm.
