Peterborough's Forgotten Fields campaigners plan 'face to face protest to demand answers about their plight
Campaigners fighting for leisure and community facilities in part of Peterborough which they say has been ‘forgotten’ are to stage a face-to-face protest to demands answers from council chiefs.
Residents of of Roman Fields, near Newborough Road on the north east edge of the city, have vowed to stage a demonstration at the next full meeting of Peterborough City Council at Peterborough Town Hall.
The protesters plan to stage a demonstration outside the town hall to show their anger to arriving councillors.
They also plan to ask questions of councillors about why the area which has about 2,000 residents is void of so many essential facilities.

Campaign group founder Radek Juszczynski said: “A group of us parents from Roman Fields are going to the full council meeting and we’re finally asking them face-to-face: ‘where can our kids play?’
He said: “It’s been more than 10 since we mover here.
"Our kids have only the streets to play on and nothing else.
"Our elders have no bench.
"Meanwhile new estates get proper play areas.”
Mr Juszczynski said: “We’re not politicians.
"We’re just frustrated dads and mums and we’re hoping the council actually sees us this time.”
The meeting of the full council starts at 6pm and campaigners have submitted a list of questions they hope to get answered.
Residents say they are angry that in an area where many have lived for 10 years there is only one playground, two bus stops, and one mailbox.
The campaign group has set up a petition at https://c.org/cVvR8QJ8ky and has 348 members.
Residents say they call their estate "Forgotten Fields" because that is how Peterborough City Council makes them feel forgotten.
A council spokesperson said: “This development was granted planning permission several years ago under policies of that time.
"These policies have since changed with regards to developers providing appropriate facilities for large scale housing developments.
“However, we always take any concerns from residents seriously and our officers are actively working to find solutions for improved services and facilities at Roman Fields.”
