Cancer Research UK’s Relay for Life will take place in the city later this year, and mayor Cllr Gul Nawaz was on hand to encourage as many people as possible to enter this year’s event.

The festival is focused around a 24-hour relay where team members take it in turns to walk around a track. It will take place at Lynch Wood on September 12, starting at noon.

There will be a Candle of Hope ceremony at 7pm.

Teams taking part are asked to raise at least £200 sponsorship.
