Peterborough Lido to remain closed this morning while work continues to 'rectify issue'
Peterborough’s open air swimming pool is to remain closed this morning (July 2), it has been announced.
Managers of Peterborough Lido, in Bishop’s Road, say the pool, which usually opens at 7am for early morning swimming, will remain closed this morning while issues with the pool are corrected.
Pool bosses have also announced that they will not be taking bookings for the rest of the day.
And they have thanked the public for their patience.
In a statement on the Lido’s Facebook page, managers state: “Unfortunately we will not be reopening this morning and have turned off bookings for the rest of today while we continue to try to rectify the issue with the pool.
"As soon as we have an update, we will post again.
"Thank you for your patience.”
The Lido, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary, was closed yesterday while ‘essential maintenance work’ was carried out.”
