Peterborough Lido re-opens after weekend closure

Peterborough Lido has re-opened after a technical failure forced a weekend closure.

The outdoor pool has been a popular destination over the past few months, as families look to cool off during the record breaking summer.

There have also been 90th anniversary celebrations, to make it even more attractive to visitors.

However, as the schools in Peterborough broke up for the summer holidays, the pool was forced to close over the weekend.

On Saturday (July 18) spokesperson for the Lido said: “Due to an issue in the plant room, we will unfortunately be closed this weekend.

“We are working to rectify the situation as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

However, today (July 20), a spokesperson said the pool would be ready to open for the afternoon bookings.

It is not the first closure the Lido has had this year – with a three day closure happening earlier this month.
