The pledge is part of the charity’s wider aim to give away over 5,000 free meals in the city this year.

A large amount of work has already been done towards this by giving away hundreds of free meals over the Christmas and New Year’s period.

The charity has also partnered with St John’s Baptist Church and has been offering free meals to the homeless once a month and has plans to extend this further to weekly in the summer. This will see well over a thousand meals given away.

The charity is also offering further support to mothers by way of social gatherings and meetings with trained mental health professionals to tackle isolation and to build connections with other people in the city.
