Opening of Queensgate’s new independent book shop and cafe edges closer
The shop is set to open later this summer
The opening of Queensgate Shopping Centre’s new independent book shop and cafe is edging closer, with renovation work now well underway.
Ink & Ember is set to open its new Queensgate shop later this summer after a hugely successful first year of trading from its original site in Stamford.
The new shop and cafe will be located on the shopping centre’s ground floor in the former Venom clothing store.

In an Instagram update posted on Monday (July 20), owner Lauren Lovett said: “I’m now finalising the floor plan for Peterborough before I press the button and order everything.
“We’re going there this afternoon to measure everything out and triple check everything.
“I’ve picked all the paint colours so I’m going to buy them today so that my incredible helpers can come and help.”
Peterborough-born Lauren opened Ink & Ember’s Stamford shop in April 2025.

The new Peterborough shop will be known as ‘The Burrow’ and have a Wes Anderson-style theme.
Much like its sister site in Stamford, the new Queensgate shop will also operate a 20-seat cafe and run creative workshops.
Speaking to the Peterborough Telegraph earlier this year, Lauren said: “I always knew I one day wanted to have a shop in Peterborough, but didn’t know how it would come about.
“After we opened in Stamford and had real success I knew I was ready to expand and Peterborough was the first place on my list.
“I spoke to the team who manage Queensgate and they were absolutely incredible by helping me find the right space.”
